Cover with plastic wrap, chill overnight.<br />Make buttercream with 1 cup solid veg. shortening or cold oleo, 3-4 C powdered sugar and 1 tsp vanilla. Add paste 1 tbsp at a time, beat until frosting is light and fluffy. I've asked several different Amish people at our county farmers market and they all say the same. I'm an ACF certified culinarian and in our food history books it also states about the resemblance to cow pies. Just in case anyone doesn't know the term, "cow pies" are cow fecal piles that the cows have trampled over and make little flat like mounds.
